Did I already tell you what happens when I'm cleaning? I'm the kind of person who puts everything aside when cleaning and where a job that takes a few hours can suddenly take up an entire day. How did that happen? Well, once I have cleaned everything, I have to put everything back. And that doesn't mean putting everything back the way it was. Of course, the larger pieces of furniture generally remain in place. I have to be honest, they have changed places quite a few times already. But the small furniture such as side tables and lounge chairs change faster. And then I haven't even mentioned the plants and decorations that change places. What's nice about this is that every time you get a new view of the things you have and you think: Oh my goodness, why didn't I put that there much earlier.
This way you always create a new atmosphere with the same items in your interior. This is certainly a solution for items in neutral colors that you can leave in your interior for a whole year. If you add some interior items with nice seasonal colors, you will have a new atmosphere in your home every few months.
In any case, after Sinterklaas we will all give our house a different atmosphere, the Christmas atmosphere of course. These are very seasonal decoration items and should not be left for 3 - 4 months. But why would you only do that for the Christmas season?
Every season has its own colors and characteristics, so we also want this in our home or just the opposite in our home. For example, autumn is usually wet, it gets colder and dark earlier, but you do have those very nice warm autumn colors such as brown tones, ocher, orange. You can then use those colors very well in your interior to create a warmer atmosphere after the summer. I'm thinking of nice vases, candle holder in ocher or brown, cushions with a different fabric such as faux fur, for example, and also a cozy plaid in a beautiful autumn color. Then add some candles and you will get a wonderfully warm atmosphere in your home. If you have a beautiful vase in a neutral color, use dried flowers in a cool autumn bouquet. They last for several months and brighten up your interior.
But the transition from winter to spring can also bring a complete change to your interior. After all that cold and darkness, we could use some light inside and warmth outside. So get rid of those dark colors inside and bring in those brighter soft colors.
Plan spring cleaning in the spring together with a change of your interior.
And you don't have to incur too many costs, when you go interior shopping, buy a few timeless things in neutral colors and then you can buy some nice extra decoration each season in the colors that match that season. And you will see that not only do you feel different outside with the change of seasons, but also in your home.
Good luck with your change of decor!
